Autobody Technician

Job Summary

Repair vehicles thoroughly, safely, and profitably in a manner consistent with Street Image, LLC S.O.P., insurance partner and industry guidelines/standards.

Essential Job Duties

  • Complete dis-assembly of vehicle in order to assist Service Advisor with preparing a 100% Repair Plan
  • Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time
  • Plan work procedure: follow work order for all operations listed
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to damaged area of vehicle if needed.  Store parts on carts or cover to eliminate potential damage
  • Mend damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; insure all gaps and fits are to industry standards
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.)
  • Fill depressions with body filler
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills; and bolts or welds replacement parts in position and reassemble after parts are painted; insure all gaps and fills are to industry standards
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces with 120-grit paper before turning vehicle over to the Paint Dept.
  • Aim headlamps and repair or replace defective parts
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to check for compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Assist Service Advisors in assessing damage to vehicles prior to repair
  • Comply with all Street Image LLC safety rules, guidelines and standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective repair

Skill/Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under Caliber’s insurance policy (Not an excluded driver)

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds

Tire Technician

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participates actively with team servicing of every customer vehicle to ensure fast, expert service
  • Dedicates work time to providing excellent customer service
  • Promotes teamwork to deliver times and accurate customer care during all operating hours
  • Demonstrates a sense of responsive urgency to every customer no matter what service is required
  • Fulfills the customer's needs the first time, every time
  • Communicates with Managers, Customer Service Adviser and other Technicians
  • Protects customer's vehicle with floor mats, seat/steering wheel covers and, if necessary, fender covers
  • Maintains back shop cleanliness and equipment calibration to shop standards.
  • Thanks customer, expressing appreciation for the business
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

As a Tire Technician and Mechanic, you will be expected to install new ones on any vehicle that comes into our service stations. Our Tire Technicians have to know how to utilize technology so they can use the computerized wheel balancer, tire machine, and alignment machine. You will be expected to install new tires, install wheels, suspensions, mechanical and electrical work. You will have to be mechanically inclined as you will be working on and around vehicles all day. You will be responsible for diagnosing vehicles that come into our stations and repairing it. You will also be expected to perform basic service jobs, including working with the alignment machine from time to time. This is a very physically demanding job as you will be standing on concrete all day, kneeling, and lifting heavy objects. Safety is always our number one priority and we do everything we can to ensure the safest work environments for our employees, therefore you will be required and expected to adhere to all safety rules and regulations. You will be interacting every day with customers, so you must have good customer service skills and be able to talk to them about the tires on their vehicle. This is a skilled position requiring an individual who doesn't mind getting dirty, works hard, pays attention to detail, and has a good work ethic.

Street Image LLC operates under the "all hands-on deck" philosophy when it comes to getting things done. Therefore, employees are required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.

What You'll Need to Do This Job:

  • A high school diploma and/or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of tires, wheels, suspensions, electrical work and the tire industry
  • 2-4 years of experience in the tire industry would be helpful

Job Duty Details

  • Customer Service Activities – 80%
    • Perform general service work, changing tires, installing auto supplies and parts, shocks, muffler and exhaust systems, etc.
    • Keep inventory in stock and properly accounted for, clean and ready for sale, and inspected for visual damages
    • Deliver and pick-up cars, merchandise and supplies for customers, dealer and shop
    • Remove wheels on cars or trucks that are in for service work – Check all cars for additional services such as mufflers, tail pipes, shock absorbers, brakes, etc.
    • Advise customer associates concerning any problems and make appropriate recommendations for solving difficulties
  • Miscellaneous Functions – 20%
    • Sweep floors
    • Clean restrooms, shop floor and warehouse areas
    • Perform miscellaneous tasks in store as directed by management
    • Attend meetings and classes as required

Street Image, LLC is growing and seeking a highly motivated, dependable Full-Time Auto Body Repair Technician, with at least 2-5 years of experience in this field. The candidate must be able to multi-task, with the ability to perform auto collision repair, from start to finish! Paint experience a must, and must provide own tools for this position! Job Duties include, but not limited to, repairing, replacing, and refinishing(painting) parts on customer vehicles. Other duties will include, replacing windshields, frame straightening, writing estimates, detailing vehicles after repairs, assisting with shop maintenance, and cleaning duties.
